-Welcome to this tutorial.
From here you will learn how to play, step by step.
Press 5 to continue.
You can move the character using your mobile numeric keypad or cursor.
You have found a pedestrian. Look what’s going to happen.
Death is about to take a new victim.
You are the only witness, the first one to respond & you must help to improve the victim’s condition.
To help, get next to the victim & press 5, this is the action bar.
Above you have icons to make a diagnosis.
Below you have icons for treatment.!
First you must evaluate the victim’s condition.
To check consciousness, gently shake his shoulders.
Press “check consciousness” use 4 & 6 to move through the menu.
The victim is UNCONSCIOUS. We must know more about his condition before we proceed.
Next we have to CHECK BREATHING. The correct way is to tilt his head back & gently lift the chin.
Look for chest movements, listen carefully for breathing sounds and feel for air on your cheek.
Press “check breathing”.
Patient is breathing so you have to turn him into the RECOVERY POSITION,
While you avoid to twist neck and head
This position minimises the risk of him inhaling the contents of his stomach.
To do this press the right icon in the Treatments bar.
- Well done!
NOW, YOU MUST CALL FOR ASSISTANCE. DIAL EMERGENCY NUMBER 112 asking for an ambulance.
Press the icon “call 112”.
Ambulance may take a time to arrive, meanwhile, you must check for breathing & general condition.
Leave the menu pressing OUT or #.
Death is near again. Follow the arrow in the screen borders.
First you must check responsiveness: CONCIOUSNESS, BREATHING & PULSE.
To check pulse, press your index and middle fingers in the neck laterally to the Adam’s apple. Press the carotid artery gently to feel for a pulse
Patient is not conscious and is not breathing, but he has a pulse.
In this case, we must start MOUTH TO MOUTH ventilation. This permits entrance of air in to the lungs of somebody who can not breathe spontaneously.
Air exhaled by lifesaver from his lungs contains enough oxygen to fulfil the victim’s needs. To perform mouth to mouth ventilation correctly you must place your lips around the victim’s mouth, making sure you have a good seal. Then blow steadily watching for his chest to rise. Give two rescue breaths.
Press “mouth to mouth” icon in the treatment bar.
The victim has been stabilised. You must turn him into the recovery position & CALL 112 INMEDIATELY, asking for an ambulance.
Well done, you just have to wait for the ambulance.
Leave the Action bar.
There is another victim somewhere in the map, you have to find him.
The patient is choking. He has a blockage of the airway with a foreign body.
To solve this we must perform the HEIMLICH MANOEUVRE.
Stand behind the patient & put both your arms around the upper part of the abdomen. Then clench your fist & grasp it with the other hand. Then pull sharply inwards and upwards with the aim of producing sudden expulsion of air, together with the foreign body, from the windpipe.
To perform the Heimlich manoeuvre, get to the patient & press 5.
The patient has dislodged the foreign body & fully recovers.
Now look for the last victim in this tutorial.
Check responsiveness, consciousness, breathing & pulse.
He is NOT CONSCIOUS, NOT BREATHING & HAS NO PULSE. Patient is in a CRITICAL CONDITION. This is a CARDIO RESPIRATORY ARREST & we must act immediately.
First thing to do is CALL 112 indicating the extreme severity of the situation & while further help arrives start CARDIO-PULMONARY RESUSCITATION, starting with mouth to mouth ventilation & chest compressions. To perform chest compressions place your hands in the middle of the lower part of the, breast bone and press down on to depress the chest wall between 4-5 cm.
Repeat at a rate of about 100 times per minute.
After 15 compressions, give 2 effective rescue breaths.
Press “cardiopulmonary resuscitation” icon in treatment bar.
You cannot resuscitate him.
There is another possibility, if you have a HEART DEFIBRILATOR.
The defibrillator is a device which by applying a direct current electric shock across the heart, makes it beat effectively again.
Turn it the defibrillator on & place the electrodes over the patient’s chest & wait for an automatic electric shock.
This electric shock will turn the heart rhythm into normal rate &, if you are quick enough, you will resuscitate him. If not, you must go on with mouth to mouth ventilation & chest compressions (in a 2:15 rate)
Before using a defibrillator you must get it. Look to the posts distributed along the scenery. Press icon to leave or ‘#’ and look for one.
To get the defibrillator, come closer and press 5.
Now you have a defibrillator, go back with the victim.
Press defibrillator icon in the treatments bar.
Congratulations, you have completed this tutorial.
